Privacy Policy

Study Grid · Last updated 6 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Study Grid collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have. We apply these commitments to every user, worldwide.

1. Who we are

Study Grid ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Study Grid platform at https://studygrid.online (the "Service"), a digital academic library and answer service. For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, we act as the controller of the personal information described in this Policy.

If you have any question about this Policy or your personal information, contact us at notset@studygrid.online.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure cryptographic hash by our authentication provider), and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile details Google shares with us.
  • Profile information: an optional profile picture and preferences you choose, such as your default answer language.
  • Usage and content: the questions and topics you submit, the documents you generate or unlock, your credit activity, and feedback you send us.
  • Cookies and local storage: identifiers used to keep you signed in and to operate core features, as described in the Cookies section below.

We do not intentionally collect special categories of data (such as health, religious, or biometric data). Please do not submit such information in your questions or uploads.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • create and manage your account and authenticate you;
  • provide the Service, including generating answers and delivering documents;
  • operate the credit system and prevent fraud or abuse;
  • respond to your enquiries and feedback and provide support;
  • maintain security, debug problems, and improve the Service;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract, including Google Firebase (authentication, database, and file storage) and the third-party model providers that generate answers.
  • Legal and safety: where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or us.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

Content you submit to generate an answer is transmitted to the configured model provider solely to produce your result. We instruct our providers to process it only for that purpose.

6. International transfers

Our providers may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or an equivalent lawful transfer mechanism.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

8. Security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, server-side handling of secrets, and least-privilege administrative access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. You can update your name, email, password, and profile picture at any time in your account settings.

To exercise your rights, contact notset@studygrid.online. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to operate essential features. These are required for the Service to function. We do not use advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies may prevent you from signing in.

11. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact notset@studygrid.online and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.

13. Contact us

Questions or requests about this Policy can be sent to notset@studygrid.online, or by post to Study Grid, Dar es Salaam.
