1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Study Grid ("we", "us", or "our") governing your use of Study Grid and its features (the "Service"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract in your country, to use the Service. By using it you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a security or legal risk.
4. Credits
Certain features use credits, a virtual balance that lets you access documents and generate answers. Credits have no cash value, are not a stored-value or payment instrument, and cannot be exchanged for money. Credits granted as part of a trial or promotion may expire or be adjusted. Consumed credits are non-refundable except where required by law.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
- scrape, harvest, resell, redistribute, or systematically download library documents or generated content beyond your own permitted use;
- attempt to bypass security, watermarking, access controls, or usage limits;
- upload or submit content that infringes others' rights or that is unlawful, defamatory, or malicious;
- interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service;
- misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any person or institution.
6. Academic integrity
The Service provides research assistance and reference materials. You are solely responsible for how you use any output, including complying with the academic-integrity rules, citation requirements, and submission policies of your institution. Generated documents are a starting point for your own work and should be reviewed, verified, and properly attributed. We do not condone plagiarism or academic dishonesty.
7. Answers and content
Answers are prepared to a high academic standard, with careful attention to relevance, quality, and proper referencing in the style you select. You remain responsible for how you use any output, including reviewing it against your specific requirements and using it in line with the academic-integrity standards described above.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Study Grid and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial study and research, subject to these Terms and the End User Agreement.
9. Your content
You retain ownership of the questions and materials you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process them solely to operate and provide the Service to you. You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit that content.
10. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers, including cloud hosting, authentication, and model providers. Their availability and performance are outside our control, and your use may also be subject to their terms.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, opportunity, or academic standing, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or where necessary to protect the Service or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Where you are a consumer, you may also benefit from mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
